"Yeah. Because I won’t completely fuck that up."
"You won’t. You just have to be mindful of your own decisions and you won’t."
"What else am I supposed to do?"
"Be with someone who doesn’t make you feel horrible."
Sienna smiled at him softly, resting her forehead on his as her fingers trailed down his neck.
"I need you to know that I love you. And you’re amazing."
"I love you too."
It was simple words but it was what he needed to say to her currently.
It was almost a repeat of last night, just as intoxicating, except this time there was no initial hesitation on his part. For the first time in forever, he felt a sense of control that he usually lacked. But it was more than that… He wanted to kiss her; he wanted to drown in her. It felt like the best thing to do at the moment.
This was completely new for Charlie- this feeling of pure bliss and intoxication that came from being with Zachary. He didn’t make her feel used or worthless, he made her feel everything all at once. No part of her felt close enough to him even as she was completely bare pressed against him. Their bodies moved with each other, her nails lightly digging into his back as she pressed her hips against his.
Sienna looped her arms around his neck as she was hitched up, interlocking her legs before she broke away breathlessly, looking over him.
Clay pulled back, a slightly lopsided grin on his face as he looked at her.
He was already tugging upwards on the hem of her shirt as he was locked in between her legs. With her free hand, he tangled his fingers into her hair.
Charlie lifted her arms to allow him to pull the shirt off of her, her legs tightening around his waist as she crashed her lips against his again. A breathy gasp of his name came from her lips, any inhibitions that were there last night completely gone now.
"I can’t keep thinking like that. Life isn’t a fairytale, Par… It doesn’t really care what someone thinks I deserve."
"Kenzie, you know this is a mistake."
Sienna raised herself a bit higher to deepen the kiss, hands going to rest on his chest as she pressed herself closer to him.
Clay leaned down to lift her up, pulling her closer as he walked them back towards the bedroom.
"Is this what pushing 30 looks like?"
"That’s just depressing."
"Not nearly enough time." Zachary murmured against her lips, his fingers trailing under the fabric of her shirt and brushing against her bare skin. "But enough."
His fingers left a trail of goosebumps in their wake, his words all the incentive she needed to pull him closer as she lifted herself up onto the counter. “All the time in the world, then.”
